Traveling by public transportation
Traveling by public transportation, such as the bus, requires a few steps:
1. Preparation: Plan your trip in advance with a travel planner such as www.9292.nl or www.ns.nl.
2. Choose your ticket:
– OV-chip card: Buy it at various stores. Check-in at the beginning of your trip and out at the end. Make sure you have enough balance or a valid travel product.
– Debit card: Check in and out with your contactless debit card, credit card or mobile. Useful for sporadic travelers (OVpay).
3. Tickets:
– Paper ticket: Still available and for sale at the bus driver or points of sale.
Pin payments give you a receipt that serves as a ticket.
– E-tickets: Buy online and display on your smartphone.
